The Field Application Engineer (FAE) will represent Amphenol Tecvox as the Lead Connectivity expert to the customer. This will include interacting with various levels of OEM engineers, OEM engineering manager, program team, OEM Supplier Quality Team, OEM Manufacturing, etc. to resolve issues and to help grow the business.


  • Serve as Technical Lead for all matters related to media hubs, chargers, cables and cable connectors
  • Lead development of future generation to media hubs, chargers, cables and connection systems to support next generation Automotive Infotainment cables requirements
  • Benchmark industry and implement product improvement as necessary to insure Amphenol Tecvox product and designs are best in class
  • Serve as primary customer liaison for connectivity (media hubs, chargers and cables commodity) between Customer and Amphenol/Tecvox
  • Facilitate and participate in meetings between the program team and the customer with onsite support and representation
  • Understand customer requirements, and translate back to project team
  • Support customer with technical information regarding current and future products
  • Support Project Team with getting technical and program information from customers
  • Meet with the Project Team to understand issues and action items and be able to accurately update and engage the customer
  • Keep Project Team updated with program timing and other details
  • Support OEM Manufacturing and Service Engineering
  • Appropriate and timely communication between Amphenol Tecvox and the customer
  • Understand Customer Systems
  • Build, develop, and maintain customer relationships with emphasis on all aspects of connectivity media hubs, chargers, cable and connector requirements and business plans
  • Support Vehicle Assembly Plant/process Verification Activities and Systems as needed
  • Understand Customer application definition including vehicle packaging, styling interface, and vehicle system integration
  • Participate in the development, validation, and improvement of requirements and specifications
  • Elevate and resolve vehicle application issues with the customer and component engineering
  • Support Project Team during Product Development Life Cycle to include: product, subsystem and vehicle development, and vehicle launch activities
  • Provide the voice of the customer to the Amphenol Tecvox engineering team
  • Provide vehicle application and voice of the customer input to component peer reviews, design reviews, and gate reviews
  • Identify, track and support new business opportunities at customer
  • Facilitate the seamless operation of the Amphenol Tecvox change management process with the customer’s process
  • Update vehicle and system bench content


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related Discipline required or commensurate work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with Automotive or Consumer infotainment connectivity modules, cables and connectors (USB Media Hubs, ports and chargers; and LVDS, FAKRA, HSD, HDMI, ETHERNET Cables and connectors)
  • Detailed understanding of Automotive OEM media hub, chargers, connector and cable standards as it applies to data and video transmission in vehicles
  • Knowledge of Vehicle Development Cycle
  • Familiarity with USCAR connection standards and protocol
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customer and internal teams
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Project Coordination Skills
  • Proficient with MS Office applications
  • Prefer direct or indirect experience within Tier 1 Automotive environment
