The Business Development Manager (BDM) will report through the Director of Global Sales & Business Development and act as the primary point of contact for the assigned field sales customers. This role will be the first point of contact for customer support, relationship development, and responsible for communicating Tecvox overall capabilities, its ability to develop products and performance to customer requirements. This role requires knowledge of automotive technical systems and business processes. The BDM is expected to thoroughly educate themselves through formal training and self-learning with all Amphenol Tecvox products and processes. This individual will be expected to utilize consultative sales methods to increase customer confidence in Tecvox, leading the organization to solve their problems, offer innovative solutions and present new technologies to increase sales. Responsible for top line growth and participation in the management of the bottom line. Collection and communication of the customer requirements for RFQ’s and management of response through to business award.


  • Lead business development efforts with assigned customers globally
  • Maintain effective communication with current customers to ensure customer satisfaction and expand existing business
  • Assist in researching the market, taking the lead in establishing contact with OEMs, understanding short term and long term needs, and providing “Voice of Customer” back to the Tecvox team
  • Presenting business case to senior management establishing short & long term forecasts, sales and technical targets
  • Ensure R&D technology roadmap is aligned with customer direction and business opportunities
  • Ensure RFQ’s are disseminated internally and RFQ responses are submitted on time to the customer
  • Assist with contract negotiations and new supplier setup with OEMs. Lead negotiations for pricing, terms & agreements with the customers
  • Support customer with technical information regarding products and performance
  • Serve as a liaison between customer and Tecvox
  • Interface with customers in Mexico
  • Keep Project Team updated with program timing and other details
  • Present pre-production parts for technical review and approvals
  • Understand customer systems and processes
  • Provide vehicle application and voice of the customer input to Tecvox teams for design and gate reviews
  • Identify, track and secure new business opportunities
  • Facilitate seamless operation of the Tecvox change management process with the customer’s process
  • Participates in customer specification reviews and customer engineering meetings
  • Plans and executes effective customer orientations with new and existing customers
  • Build, develop and maintain customer relationships
  • Customer application definition including vehicle packaging, styling interface, & vehicle system integration
  • Participate in the development, validation, and improvement of requirements and specifications
  • Collaborate with global sales teams for global programs and customers
  • Elevate and resolve vehicle application issues with the customer and internal organizations
  • Escalate any potential threat to customer satisfaction, existing business, quality, cost, timing or delivery


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related discipline required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering or a sales support role with a Tier 1 Automotive company or vehicle manufacturer
  • Minimum of 5 years of experiencewith RFQ, RFI and quote development & processing
  • Knowledge of automotive manufacturers including electronics packaging, OEM and Tier 1 applications, and vehicle development cycles
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in cross functional teams, manage projects, ability to work under pressure, with mandated turn-around times, and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to multi-task, communicate and coordinate multiple customer requirements
  • Ability to develop solid relationships & communicate effectively with internal and external customer teams
  • Ability to travel 25-50% throughout the U.S. and to Mexico
